Náměstí Míru
Náměstí míru is the name of a square in Vinohrady - a town district consisting mostly of apartement blocks from the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, when it developed as an independent town (though in fact a suburb of Prague). In the beginning of the 20th century it was united to Prague and now it is part of the wider centre of the city. Náměstí míru means 'Square of the Peace'.
There is a tram crossing next to the square and quite busy tram stop near the metro station.
The station itself is the deepest metro station in Prague: The platform is 52 metres deep, because the track have to climb in the hilly terrain of Prague from the Vltava valley to the higher areas in the east.

I like the bright blue color on the wall. It denotes that in the future Náměstí míru is planned to be a transfer station with a new metro line D, which will be assumedly signed with blue color.

A westbound train of the older 8171 stock leaves the station for Muzeum. The 8171 stock is no more in use on line A, all trains in regular service on this line are now of the modernised 8171M stock. The 8171 trains are still in use on line B. (2006)
